Your beauty should not come from outward adornment rather, it should be that of your inner self. 1 Peter 3: 3 – 4
Belle of the Ball
Does my bum look big or great?
Betty asked her skinny mate,
Whilst trying on a brand new dress,
Wanting perfect nothing less.
Admiring in her own reflection,
Had she’d made the right selection.
Turning this way; turning that,
Breathing in – her tummy flat,
Bending down; standing straight,
Thinking she should lose some weight.
She gave her friend one more chance:
Shall I wear this to the dance?
Or should I take it back tomorrow?
Her shoulders slumped and eyes of sorrow.
But Betty’s mate had a rule:
To say things kind and never cruel,
I love you in anything you wear,
It’s not the dress that makes them stare.
But your inward beauty shining out,
And your heart of gold without a doubt,
Makes you the loveliest of them all,
Cherished, loved ……. Belle of the Ball.
